The EXORIS (exoplanet reference interior structure) project aims at providing a reference for exoplanet interiors that can be applied to all the exoplanets for which mass and radius are measured. The interior structure models are based on a new generation of equations of states obtained using first principles simulations that provide a new understanding of planetary interiors. These equations of states and resulting interior models are applicable to objects ranging from Earth-like planets to giant planets several times the size of Jupiter. This will allow us to investigate three fundamental questions related to the conditions for the emergence of life: how giant planets form, what is the nature of ocean planets and hot neptune currently observed, and the habitability of Earth-like planets.
